We did it!

We started school today! Victoria, as a first grader, and Adam as a preschooler! I can't believe we got through this day with no tears from the kids and very few tears from mom! They were both so very excited to go, as we have been talking about it for weeks. I truly thought Adam and Henry would both cry when we dropped Victoria off, and then Henry would cry when we dropped Adam off, but none of them cried! Victoria did let me know she was worried about Adam, so I did stop by and see her during her lunch to let her know he did great when I dropped him off. She was happy about that and then could focus on the rest of her day.

Here are the kids all ready to go!

Here is Victoria, in front of her desk as my BIG first grader!!!! <3 p="p">

And here is Adam, in front of the sign for his school!

Adam seemed reluctant to let me leave but I told him I would come back and he asked if Henry could stay and looked worried when I said no. But he waved goodbye and out I went. When I returned to get him, he came running down the hallway, screeching "You came back momma" and ran into my arms and it made me tear up. He was very excited to see brother and they embraced too. Then I took him outside to meet the bus driver who will be bringing him home and let him on the bus to see his designated seat and strapped him in and then when I told him it was ready to go, he was whining cause he wanted to ride the bus home! So, hopefully he will ride it home this week! He told me all about his day on the way home, even telling me he didn't like Miss April because she stopped him from playing because it was time to come home. He then told me that some kid took his shirt off and Miss April told him we have to keep clothes on at school. And he said he tried to use the big potty too. And then he told me he wants to go to school everyday so long as I promise to always come back for him. Gosh, I love this boy. He melts me completely.

I am off to pick Victoria up in a few hours. I cannot wait to hear about her day! I am so excited for my babies, and it was nice to be able to have a few hours to dedicate to Henry as well and we had alot of fun. He was really well behaved, although he asked about his brother and sister quite a few times.

I still can't believe how much easier this day was then I had thought it would be! YAY for outgoing kids!!

And my little sidekick left at home now!

My baby is 2!

I honestly have no idea how this happened. I remember so clearly bringing Henry home from the hospital, and almost immediately he began the crying that wouldn't end until, well, it still hasn't really. He is definitely a very demanding, energetic, persistent little booger. But, I love him anyway. It still blows my mind how fast the last 2 years have flown if I think about it. There is a quote that says "The days are long and the years are short" and that is the honest truth. It was pretty hard emotionally, knowing Henry is my last baby and here he is, a toddler already. He is talking quite a bit, saying many words and starting to put together 2 word sentences. He definitely lets you know what he wants when he wants it. No problems communicating. Still tantrums like a 2 year old. HA! But he can be super sweet and cuddly too and he is so adorable when he sleeps. When he sleeps. Because, he still wakes several times most nights. But, it's getting better. Or maybe I'm just getting used to it. One or the other. Anyway, here is the birthday boy!!

Enjoying summer vacation

Well, here we are, mid July, in the middle of summer vacation. I am definitely enjoying having my girl home and also not having to do school runs. I am trying to decide if I want to send Adam (3) to school this fall or not. There are so many pros and cons. And it would add alot of extra miles daily. I am just trying to make a decision, preferably before August 1st. Sigh. He is potty training right now, and going like a champ. I wish his brother would follow suit as it would sure be nice to be out of diapers completely.

The kids are all doing great. Victoria is 6 now, and has lost a total of 5 teeth, 3 within the last 2 weeks and she has 2 more very loose ones. She is growing so big and gets smarter by the day. She loves to read and loves playing Minecraft on her iPod. She is missing her friends and talks about going back to school constantly. The only thing she likes about summer vacation is going to bed later than normal. Which means more time on her iPod or reading. :) I still can't believe my girl is going to be in 1st grade in a few short weeks and gone from me all day long. I have never been away from her longer than 3 hours in her life, except for when I had Henry. I am very nervous but I am sure she will do fine. We have been having a few of her friends over for playdates so she doesn't go months without talking to them and she is eagerly awaiting to see who all will be in her class. There are a few I hope are and a few I hope are not. We shall see in just a few short weeks.

Adam is doing wonderfully as well. He turned 3 in March. His speech has just taken off and he talks in complete sentences and I pretty much understand everything he says. As I mentioned above, he decided to potty train himself and goes like a pro. He is still very into his cars and trains and iPad. He loves Victoria to pieces and they have a very close relationship. Adam is my little lover and nothing crushes him more than thinking someone is mad at him. It's kinda sad because his siblings take advantage of that and tell him they are mad which really upsets him. He is still my big boy, in the 95th percentile for both height and weight. I hope he ends up big like daddy. He has the most amazing brown eyes and is 100% boy, be it a sensitive one. He loves playing outside, in the mud, more than anything. He also loves sleeping and is my best sleeper and has been since day one. I am so proud of how far he has come. He keeps talking about going to school in the fall, so I will most likely end up trying him out with school at least. I don't know how I will be away from him for 4 hours a day 4 days a week, but I know it is probably best for him. Sigh.

Henry...ah, Henry. He will be 2 in just 3 short weeks. I can't believe my baby is nearly 2. Henry is...easily my most demanding and exhausting child. He is  very different from the other 3 children, and needs constant interaction or he gets into things and causes chaos. As long as he gets that interaction, he is a loving little guy, but if he doesn't, watch out world. He has a scream louder than any scream I have ever heard. Ever. He LOVES the outdoors and LOVES animals more than anything. He wants to play with his siblings but doesn't quite know how so he ends up left out alot and it upsets him and he hits them and takes their toys away. He is a stinker. But he is also very loving and VERY smart, perhaps smarter than the other 3 at this age. He is also easily my best eater and will try anything. He is 100% mommas boy and prefers me over anyone else. He is growing so fast although he is very small for his age. I think that will change as he seems to be built like his daddy at this age. He is still very light haired and light skinned and his eyes are dark brown as well. I just love him to bits.

Madelynn just turned 13! I can't believe I have a teenager living in my house. So weird! She is about 3 inches taller than me and her feet are bigger than mine. She is a typical teen, eating me out of house and home! She is still super thin. She is very much into her iPod and Minecraft as well. And boys and makeup and clothes and well, all the typical things teens are into. She is super smart, insanely witty and very beautiful. Its fun having her around.

Andrew has a job and he has been there for nearly a year. He is loving it and has made some great friends there as well. One friend has a roommate couple and we have become friends with them and I watch their daughter a few days a week. She is 3, just a month older than Adam and it's nice to have the kids socialize with someone that is not a sibling. The little girl, Madyson, has a baby brother on the way next month. It will be so cool having a little baby around sometimes! My kids love babies. I don't know how often I will be able to watch them once school starts up, but I will at least try to get my hands on that baby a few days a week. :)

Well, that is pretty much my life at the moment. I want to try to update this blog often so my kids have a bit of a record of their lives. I told myself to do it years ago, but life gets in the way and I don't get as much online time as I like and its difficult to remember to update. I am going to set myself a reminder in my phone to see if that helps!

Time to start blogging again!

I can't believe how much time has lapsed since I last blogged, but I decided today that my 2011 goal is to blog everyday. Even if is something quick, I need an outlet and this will be nice to have something for my kids to read when they're older.

So, starting tonight, it's time to get blogging!!

It's been a long time...

since I've updated this blog. I started it as a way to keep family and friends updated on our lives, but Facebook is proving to handle that just fine.

A few updates, just in case anyone still reads this blog:

Victoria just turned 4 on the 31st of March. We had just a small family party because everyone else is nearly 4 hours away, or farther. We had a nice day, and Victoria got some nice presents she was wanting and the kind of cake she wanted (strawberry with vanilla frosting and her name written in blue!). I still can't believe my daughter is 4 years old!! The time has flown. Victoria is a very loving, empathetic, strong willed, persistent, funny, beautiful little girl and the most amazing big sister ever!

Adam turned a year old on March 13th! This has by far been the fastest year of my life! Adam is an incredible boy. He went from being a whiny, needy baby to a cuddly, fun toddler. He took a few steps a week ago but has yet to take off walking. He gets around fast by crawling and cruising and is forever standing up in the middle of the floor to balance. So much like his sister, neither of them needed to pull up on furniture, they just stand up wherever they are (just like me when I was a baby). Adam has made a wonderful addition to our family and I can't imagine life without my sweet boy!

Big 1 year old!

We found out in December, that we are expecting another baby in August! This was a complete shock because we thought we were done after Adam, although we did toss around the idea of possibly having a third child together. I always wanted 3 children growing up, and so despite the initial shock, I am very happy that not only am I getting my third child, but we are having another BOY! I always wanted 2 boys and a girl (although I wanted 2 boys first and a girl last!) and although I thought I wanted another girl this time around, finding out it is a boy is so great! Adam will have a little playmate, as they will just be 17 months apart! I still can't get over saying my "boys"! This pregnancy, just like the last 2, is going great! This boy is super active like his brother, but aside from feeling him move, I wouldn't even know I was pregnant. I am very lucky with my pregnancies! This will definitely be our last baby. I will be getting my tubes tied this time around. Although a part of me wants more, this will be my 3rd c-section and I don't want to push it and also, we don't really have room for more kids! In our apartment or our car! So we will be moving from the "creating" life to the "raising" life of the 3 (well 4 with Maddy here part time) amazing kids we have!

Madelynn is doing great as well. I can't believe she will be 11 in June! I came into her life when she was 13 months old and Andrew and I will be together 10 years in July! I have watched her grow from a small baby who couldn't walk, to a beautiful toddler, to a dramatic preschooler to this amazing preteen I have living here! She is beautiful, smart, talented, artistic, funny and dramatic. And she is a great big sister as well. Victoria adores her. And her 3 brothers are going to grow up looking up to her as well! She went from being an only child for nearly 7 years to having 4 siblings in 4 years! Crazy, but she's taking it in stride!

Madelynn, age 10 1/2:

So, that's our life lately! Growing and growing so fast and the time is just flying by and I am trying to enjoy every minute of it! I couldn't love my life more!!!!

4 months...

Yes, its been 4 months since I have blogged. Summer always keeps me busy.

Adam is 5 months old today. At age 5 weeks, he was diagnosed with Reflux and has been on Zantac since. It does stop the pain, although it doesn't stop the amount of spit up and man, does that boy spit up all the time! At 3 months, he was diagnosed with Tortcollis and Plagiocephaly. Torticollis is tightening of the neck muscles and Plagiocephaly is a flat spot resulting from only being able to turn the neck one way. He was fitted with a helmet on July 20th, and although he hated it at first, he seems to be just fine in it now...and it's super cute on him as well!

He should only have to wear it another 3 months, hopefully less! He started out with one helmet guy, but while he was on vacation, we had an unplanned visit in due to Adam's eczema and really liked the new guy, Ethan, so we switched to him! Here he is with Adam:

Aside from the helmet, Adam is doing well. Teething at the moment, as all 4 bottom teeth are trying to come thru, but he is doing really well. Not rolling over yet, not even showing and interest, but he is a happy baby most of the time and loves his big sisters to bits! Now if only I could get him over the suck to sleep association and realize that he doesn't need to eat 2 times in the middle of the night anymore....

Victoria is doing well! Nearly 3 1/2 now. Growing like a weed! Wearing size 5/6 clothing and is so super tall. She has such an imagination and talks nonstop. She is the bright spot in any day for me and I just love this child to bits! Her hair is growing long again, but no talk of cutting it yet. Too cute, right?

Maddy is looking forward to seeing her friends when school starts back up in 4 weeks (where did the summer go?!?!?!) and got 12 inches chopped off her hair earlier this summer. It's adorable and alot easier for her to manage!

Before:

After:

Andrew had his first dentist visit last week, when he had a wisdom tooth extracted. It had a hole in it and has been bothering him on and off for 2 years so he finally had it removed! And no more pain YAY!

Aside from all of that, not much going on! Enjoying the last few weeks of summer!

One whole month...

Already! Adam is a month old today! Things are going pretty good. He has some gas issues and some formula tolerance issues (or so they think, they switched him twice) but other than that, he is starting to stay awake for longer periods of time, and has finally started making alot of eye contact and looking around at things. Waiting for that first real smile....

My MIL will be here from Ireland in 2 short weeks. She will be staying a month. We are looking forward to it. I will finally have another adult to have conversations with during the day...when I am not sleeping that is. I will be taking advantage of another adult in the house to watch the children so I can finally get some rest!

Victoria is doing well too. She is getting better about sharing attention with Adam now and is the biggest helper ever.

Happy 3rd Birthday to my baby girl!

I can't believe Victoria turned 3 years old today! The time has flown by so fast and I wish it would just slow down. She is growing up before my very eyes and it's hurting, but leaving me smiling at the same time.
