Pretty fun weekend

I had a pretty fun weekend. Saturday morning a friend came over and we went shopping for a bit, then I went out with that same friend, her husband and 2 other friends Saturday night to a dueling piano bar called Mojo's. Didn't get home till 2am but gosh was it fun. Best time I have had in a really long time.

Sunday we chilled all morning, recovering from Saturday night I think, and then Andrew had soccer in the evening so we went to that. It was alot of fun as well.

Over the course of the weekend, I got this reallllllly cute picture of Victoria. She is growing up SO fast!

Life is just SO good sometimes

I found out last week that we are getting a HUGE tax return this year and we are so excited. We will be able to pay off my car, and several credit cards as well as get a few things. Victoria's birthday is coming up and we are now able to get her some nice things. We are also getting Madelynn her own Ipod, in teal, her favorite color. She is going to be so excited. We may each get new Ipod shuffles as well, since ours are 4 years old and haven't been the same since they went thru the metal detectors at the airport when we went to Europe 2 years ago. I am thinking hot pink for me and silver for Andrew. They have come down in price to $50 each, which is so awesome.

We will also be putting some money up as we are moving out of this apartment June 1st. Not sure where yet, but not another apartment, that's for sure. Maybe a house or a duplex. I need a place for my kids to run around, with room to make a garden. Growing my own organic vegetables is a dream of mine. I hate moving, but moving in the summer will beat moving in the winter, which we have done the last 4 times we've moved.

We will finally be able to tackle the remainder of our debt with not having a car payment anymore. Hopefully my car will last another couple years so we won't have another payment for awhile. I am sure by next year we are going to be wanting 2 vehicles so we will have another payment if that happens, but it will be worth it.

Sometimes life is SO good!

Young heros

This story has totally touched me. Unbelievable.

So sick of this weather

My goodness, we just can't seem to get a break. It was nearly 45 and raining yesterday and today its snowing and icing out. We are expected to get another 6-9 inches overnight and they are saying travel is highly discouraged. School will most likely be closed again tomorrow. I am so ready for Spring. I normally love Winter, but we have really been hammered on this season and I am just plain SICK of it. I want nice roads to drive on, nice weather to go to the park in. The kids are getting sick of being cooped up inside all the time and neither of them is sleeping well because they aren't getting much fresh air. The snow is so deep that my toddler can't even walk thru it when she does get to play in it. It's so bloody cold too. I am wondering how long this will go on. When my daughter was born 2 years ago March, there was no nasty weather after she was born that year. No snow at all, so I am hoping this year will follow suit since I am planning her birthday party up at my mom's, which is a 3+ hour drive. I don't want to drive it if its nasty outside. We will be renting a car either way. There is no way I will trust my car in this weather. I really hope Spring comes soon.

Hair and eyes

I have to brag about my daughter for a minute. I may be baised, but I think she has the most amazing hair and eyes I have ever seen! I can't help sharing with everyone, as I think they should (or perhaps do!) feel the same as I do! Heehee!

Finally better

We are finally just about 100% in my house again. Victoria had an ear infection that just wouldn't go away, on top of a cold, and was miserable for over a week. I am finally over whatever I had, but now have a toothache, so I feel icky again today. Not much exciting going on in our house the last week. I have been reading blogs here and there, but just not posting, as I didn't know what to post about with nothing going on.

One thing, Victoria's eyes changed color! After being VERY blue for nearly 2 years, we noticed the other day that they are turning green. Green with some brown streaks. We have always noticed brown streaks in her eyes and thought for sure they would go brown, like mine, but they always reverted back to VERY blue with no streaks. The nurses told us that once she hit a year, there was only a 5% chance they would change. Well, she was in that percentage apparently. I am a bit bummed because she was my parents only blue eyed grandchild (we all have brown eyes and a few have hazel). Some of my friends swear she has gray eyes and her eyes do look different depending on what she is wearing, but when she is naked, they look green to me, with a few brownish, yellow streaks.

Down and out

We have been really sick here for the last week, which is why I haven't been blogging. I haven't even been on the computer hardly at all in the last week. First I got sick and then Victoria and she got an ear infection and it has just been a really bad week. She is still not 100%. I will try to get on and catch up later today!
