My sister called me last night and asked me if I would like her to come down the night before my c-section and stay with Victoria until Andrew comes and gets them to show them the new baby. She then said she could stay for a few days, while I am in the hospital so that Andrew can concentrate on me and Victoria doesn't have to be dragged everywhere and Andrew can get Maddy off to school without waking Victoria early in the morning. I am so thrilled that she will do this for us. She can help Andrew when he needs it, especially when it comes to Victoria and all her feedings and baths. I know his mind will be preoccupied with me, so it will be easy for him to forget a few things, because he isn't used to being the primary caregiver for Victoria, and my sister has 2 sons. She can help Maddy with her homework and cook and such. I am very excited and can't thank her enough. She then said if I needed her to come back down after Andrew returns to work just let her know. YAY for awesome sisters!!!! I LOVE HER!

Well....
my first appt went good! I actually am having an ultrasound next Friday. When you have had a c-section, you get 2 ultrasounds for subsequent pregnancies. The first is to make sure the timing is right and you are as far along as you think you are. This is so when they schedule the c-section, they don't make it too early. The 2nd ultrasound is to find out the position of the placenta.
I was given paperwork to go over with my husband about wether to choose another c-section this time around, or try a Vbac. Because it's been 3 years since I last gave birth, and because I am young, healthy and the only reason Victoria was a c-section was because she turned over, the chance of me having a successful vbac is high. However, there are risks involved, the biggest being a ruptured uterus, which can be deadly and at the very least would be double infection risk and harm to the baby and most likely a hysterectomy. So, just to be safe (as safe as surgery can be) we are going with another c-section. Having a 3 year old and having no family or friends nearby to watch her, means going into labor at 3am would be awful. I don't know what we would do with her. At least this way I can plan to have someone come to the hospital to watch her while I have my c-section and then Andrew will take over and care for Victoria.
He also talked to me about a Quad 4 test and we are declining this as well. I am young, healthy and there are no defects on either side of the family so we feel confident in our decision. Besides, I will be having the baby either way, wether something is wrong or not. And the doctor did say that sometimes it comes back that something is abnomal and then you have to go thru more tests and sometimes find nothing was wrong. I don't want the stress of that.
He told me that since Andrew is the one that clearly makes the big babies (Maddy was 8lbs 9oz and Victoria was 8lbs, 12 oz) that this child will most likely be over 9 pounds (Glad for the c-section then!!). He said you get much bigger much quicker with your 2nd pregnancy, so I will be convinced that I am having twins no matter how many scans he gives me and so on.
I am very excited for the ultrasound next week. It was too early to hear the heartbeat, but I should see it next week on the ultrasound. I had an ultrasound with Victoria at 12 weeks as well, and I remember it so clearly.
I am extremely nervous about the birth part though. I don't spend much time away from Victoria and have never spent more than 4 hours away, so to be at the hospital and have to spend 3 whole nights away from her is really bringing me down. But I know she will bond with her daddy in that time and I am so confident and trust him completely with her, so that part is good. I am a bit bummed that he won't be able to spend as much time with me at the hospital (he didn't leave my side for 2.5 days with Victoria) but that's just what happens when you have more children I suppose.

First prental appt tomorrow
Well, I am currently 10 1/2 weeks pregnant! I really can't believe how quickly the last 5 weeks have gone now that I think about it. The nausea has really set in and so have some vicious headaches. I have my first prenatal appt tomorrow and am hoping I will be able to hear the heartbeat, although I doubt it as I couldn't hear it with V at 12 weeks.

Victoria's cast
It was broken :-( She picked red, and we paid an extra $25 for a waterproof cast, so she can bathe and swim. It comes off Sep 22nd, right in the middle of Granny's visit. I hope the time flies. She seems fine by it, but it was so swollen when they took the splint off.

I told her to quit jumping...
Victoria loves to jump. Off the couch, off the table, off the slides or big rocks at the park. I keep telling her she is going to hurt herself and sure enough, last night she jumped off the couch and landed on her leap pad and broke her left arm :-(
Because the elbow has fatty tissue pads, its difficult to see behind them, but those pads are displaced in Victoria's elbow, one going one way and the other going the other way. So, most likely a break behind it. The doctor at the Med center put it in a splint last night and a sling, but tomorrow at 3:30, we have an appt with an Orthopedic surgeon, who will most likely cast it. Right in the middle of summer. Right in the heat. Right when Granny is coming from Ireland in less than 4 weeks.
Please keep Victoria in your thoughts or prayers....that it isn't a bad enough break to require a cast. Sigh.

Hello Nausea!
With Victoria, I was never nauseous a single bit, but for the last 2 days, I have been so nauseous. I thought for sure when I got to 8 weeks without any, that I would luck out again, but I guess not. I am also having wicked cravings this time around, which I never did with Victoria, aside from orange juice. I sure hope these symptoms pass soon.
On a positive thought, at least I feel pregnant now!

Very sad news
My sister called today. She lost her baby. I feel so helpless and I just don't know what to say to her. It makes matters worse that I am pregnant. We were looking forward to having our babies a week apart. I am so sad :-(
