Trip to New York!

What an awesome trip! We went to New York this weekend, to visit an online friend of mine that I have been emailing for over 3 years. It was so awesome to finally meet her in person. Jaime and I met online when I emailed her after reading her info on her weight watchers board. I thought we had alot in common, so I took a chance and I am so glad I did! We instantly clicked and have rarely gone a day without email/text contact since. We email almost everyday and send pics to each other of our kids (my Victoria is only 4 weeks older than her Grant) and other things in our lives. We were pregnant together so we got to share that as well. She was exactly as I imagined her to be in person and her family was very welcoming to mine and made us feel instantly at home. Even our husbands clicked and hung out all weekend. It was beautiful weather and we had so much fun. We can't wait to do it again!

We left Friday morning at 11am and arrived to their place about 8:15 Friday night. Victoria didn't nap all the way there, and went down at about 10pm and was up again at 2am and stayed up till 7am and then slept an hour and got up. She barely ate a thing. She napped for 2 hours Saturday afternoon and then didn't go to sleep till midnight Saturday night and slept thru till 9am. Then on Sunday, she didn't nap and went to sleep about 10pm, and slept thru till 8:30 Monday morning, when we got up, had breakfast, said our goodbyes and left again at 11am.She slept for about an hour on the drive home. We arrived home at 8pm Monday night. Andrew ended up taking Tuesday off as well as we needed a recovery day. Thankfully the tiredness didn't kick in till Tuesday after the driving! Victoria didn't go to bed till 11pm Monday and had to get up at 9am yesterday to take the rental back, napped an hour yesterday and slept from 9pm last night till 9am this morning. She seems to finally be back to her normal self, eating and playing. I think the trip really messed her up. She behaved for the most part, but with very little sleep and hardly any eating, it did take its toll on her. She keeps asking where Jaime, Jason and Grant are though. I think she was finally getting attached when we had to leave.

On saturday, Jaime took us to a small pool for kids and Victoria didn't want to get out. She loves water so much and it was so nice to be able to sit on the side while she played in not quite waist deep water. I wish they had something like that around here. Sunday we went to a local park and that was the most fun of all. They have waterfalls there and Victoria loved them. She also had a blast throwing rocks in the creek. Then we went for a small hike thru some woods to some more water, and Andrew and Jaime ended up stripping the kids and taking them in. Got some great pics of that! They had a blast! Victoria also loved going out in Jaime's condo development and throwing rocks in the creek there and feeding the fish in the pond. Jaime and I got to run to the store so we got to spend time together alone too. I just wish we lived a bit closer, but at least we are close to enough to do what we did (Jaime's words!).

All in all, it was a great trip and we are so glad we went and made lifelong friends (well, Jaime and I already were, but I think the guys are now too!). Hopefully as Victoria and Grant get older, they will get along better and play more together, and maybe we could actually get a picture of them together, smiling or hugging. Toddlers are difficult to photograph! Mine is anyway! The trip couldn't have gone any better than it did, and like I said, we will have to do it again soon!
